Annual Events & Programs

Our annual events provide funding for our programming, raise awareness of the need for mental health and suicide prevention services and enable the Foundation to support local food banks, mental health organizations and initiatives that align with our mission.

For more than 20 years, the Chuckie Mahoney Memorial Golf Classic has been one of our biggest fundraisers; equipping us to provide schools and nonprofits in western Pennsylvania with training, resources and support to combat depression, improve mental health and prevent suicide. Plan now to join us for a great day of golf in support of our mission.

Each January we honor Chuckie’s memory and celebrate his love of basketball with a spirited hoops tournament at Chuckie’s alma mater, Burgettstown Area High School. The basketball classic provides local student athletes with a day of fun competition while raising funds to support scholarships and mental health and suicide prevention programs.

The Foundation is a proud sponsor of the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention’s community awareness walks. Plan now to join us at the Pittsburgh walk on September 6, 2025 at Highmark Stadium. Check in at 9 AM and the walk kicks off at 10:30 AM.

Each school year, the Foundation partners with the Allegheny Health Network Chill Project to provide a day of enlightening and transformative workshops for school and mental health professionals. The annual conference delves into the principles and practices of holistic health, emphasizing the vital mind-body connection and equipping physicians, physician assistants, nurses, nurse practitioners, psychologists, social workers, and school educators with vital information to better serve their patients and students.
